A technically correct top-order batsman from the southern reaches of the island, Dhananjaya de Silva briefly caught the national selectors' eye in 2015.

He made his T20 debut that year, before debuting in the two remaining formats in 2016.

He has already impressed in the five-day format, make two centuries in his first 10 Tests.
