Bio

After breaking records in Sri Lanka’s secondary school competitions, Dinesh Chandimal rose to prominence with a flurry of fine hundreds for the Sri Lanka Under-19s.

Handy with the gloves, Chandimal also showed promise as a wicketkeeper.

He made the Sri Lanka Development side in 2009, scoring a century against New Zealand, and was rewarded with his international debut in 2010.

Chandimal played his first one-day international against Zimbabwe, scoring 10* on debut and followed up with 111 in his second match, before another century in his sixth outing.

After scoring twin fifties in his Test debut against South Africa in late 2011 to help secure a historic victory, Chandimal now has eight centuries to his name to go along with 12 fifties.
