Dushmantha Chameera had only played one ODI for Sri Lanka when he was called into the 2015 World Cup squad as a replacement for Dhammika Prasad.
The rookie paceman broke into the national team in January during the one-day series in New Zealand. One month earlier, he had been named in Sri Lanka’s Test squad but was not selected during the series.
Playing his maiden ODI in Wellington he took 2-60.
Chameera has taken 22 wickets in his six-Test career with one five-wicket haul.
