Bio

Many cricket fans will remember when Ishant Sharma announced himself on the world cricket stage in 2007-08. Aged 19 and playing in just his fourth Test, the quick produced fierce bowling spells to topple Australian greats including Ricky Ponting at the WACA.

Sharma continued to impress during his first year on the international scene but since then his pace, which once reached as high as 150kph, has dropped and his potency has been reduced partly due to injury problems.

Nevertheless, Sharma has remained a regular member of the Test and one-day international teams and has more than 200 Test and 100 ODI wickets to his name.
