Bio

After representing Scotland through all age groups, Coetzer played his first senior match for his country in 2003, while his official one-day international debut came against England in 2008.

Coetzer has built a reputation as one of Scotland’s most talented batsmen, playing 16 ODIs and scoring more than 700 runs.

A highlight of the Aberdeen native’s career to date was a swashbuckling 133 against Afghanistan in March 2013, while he was also Scotland’s leading run scorer during the 2009 ICC World Twenty20.

He was named Scotland captain in 2013, but Preston Mommsen took over the role when Coetzer was injured during Scotland's qualifying campaign for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

In December 2014, Coetzer was named vice-captain of Scotland’s World Cup squad.
