Queenslander Mitch Swepson made his first-class debut in October 2015 and has emerged as a contender to don the Baggy Green.

He impressed for Australia A in fixtures against South Africa A and India A in 2016, proving he could be ready to make the step up sooner rather than later.

Armed with the ability to turn the ball a long way, Swepson has earned praise from former New Zealand skipper and Brisbane Heat Big Bash League coach Daniel Vettori.

Swepson returned career-best first-class figures of 4-33 against South Africa A in August and then claimed 4-78 against India A in September.

Swepson was a late call-up to the Test squad to tour Bangladesh in August, 2017.
