Player Story
A prodigious junior player, Ollie Pope had been earmarked for the England side long before his Test debut in 2018.
After some middling results in the middle order (an average of 29.64), Pope was dropped during the disastrous 2021-22 Ashes series to Australia.
He returned to the side under the Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes regime, but this time as the side's No.3 batter. His results have improved with the added responsibility of the role, averaging 43.25 since his return to the side, including scoring a double century against Ireland.
