Bio

Having started his first-class career at Victoria, wicketkeeper-batsman Peter Nevill has been an important member of the NSW side since he arrived at the Blues in 2008.

His value as a batsman is such that even when Brad Haddin has returned from international duty, NSW selectors have often found room in the side for both players.

Nevill’s best season with the bat came in 2011-12, when he averaged over 50 in first-class cricket and earned a call-up for Australia’s tour of West Indies as back-up for Matthew Wade.

Since then, he has remained in the thinking of selectors with games for Australia A, while he also captained the Blues and an Invitational XI that took on England in 2013.

Nevill made his Test debut during Australia’s tour of England in 2015, scoring 45 and taking seven catches. Nevill held the Test wicketkeeping spot following Haddin’s retirement but lost his place to Matthew Wade after the series against South Africa in 2016-17.
