Theunis de Bruyn played for South Africa Under-19 in the 2012 World Cup, alongside Quinton de Kock, and finished as the team's third highest run-scorer.

The hard-hitting right-hander averages more than 45 in first-class cricket with a high-score of 202-not-out.

His T20I debut came against Sri Lanka in January 2017 and didn't have to wait much longer for a Test debut, playing against New Zealand two months later.
