Rock thrown at Australian team bus

No one injured after window on team bus was shattered by a rock thrown in Guwahati

Australia's cricketers have had a scare following their T20 win in Guwahati after a rock was thrown at their team bus, shattering one of the windows.

No one was hurt in the incident, but it has left a sour taste coming just minutes after their eight-wicket win at the Barsapara Stadium.

Players and staff were travelling from the ground back to their team hotel when someone threw a rock, believed to be roughly the size of a cricket ball, at a window on the right-hand side of the bus. The projectile pierced through the glass and ended up inside the bus, shattering the window.

In a remarkable piece of good fortune, no one was sitting on the seat next to the window when it was broken.

While no one was injured, the Australian players were understandably shaken up by the incident.

It's the second time in five weeks that the Australian team's bus has been targeted: a small rock was thrown at their bus in Chittagong during the second Test there early last month. The bus suffered only minor damage on that occasion and no glass or projectile fell into the bus, although a window was broken.

That incident led to an increased security presence in Bangladesh and it's yet to be seen if any extra measures will be taken here following this latest incident.

The team and support staff were accompanied by local police and security officials back to their hotel from the ground, which has been standard practice on this tour.

Cricket Australia declined to make an official statement ahead of their departure to Hyderabad later on Wednesday.
