The web spun by England leg-spinner Adil Rashid this summer has been recognised in the latest update of the Official BBL Player Rankings, with the Adelaide Strikers import leaping into the No.1 position.

Rashid climbed from fourth position into top spot, while Hobart Hurricanes leg-spinner Cameron Boyce, who had been sitting on top of the rankings, dropped 12 places after his figures of 0-40 in Hobart's loss to the Melbourne Stars.

Rashid is second on the wicket-taking table for BBL|05 behind Thunder star Andre Russell and took 2-17 from his four overs against the Heat last Friday, following on from spells of 3-23 and 3-24 in his preceding matches.

Dwayne Bravo's heroics in the Melbourne Renegades' season-saving win over the Sydney Thunder has also been recognised in the rankings update, with the West Indian jumping to second spot in the allrounder category.

The 32-year-old scored 47 off 24 balls and took 2-26 in the Renegades' five-wicket win at Spotless Stadium, having already posted an unbeaten half-century in the second Melbourne derby two days earlier.

His efforts moved him to the No.2 position behind Thunder superstar and compatriot Andre Russell.

Chris Lynn has held his position at the top of the batting charts, but George Bailey and Travis Head have narrowed the gap on the Brisbane Heat captain.

Bailey edged closer to Lynn with his half-century for the Hurricanes against the Stars, while Strikers star Head climbed one spot after his purple patch continued against the Heat with an even 50 from 25 balls.

English pair Michael Lumb (Sixers) and Luke Wright (Stars) round out the top five, with Wright rising one place off the back of his unbeaten half-century against the Hurricanes.
