Henriques, Burns recovering after fielding collision
Moises Henriques has broken his jaw in three places and teammate Rory Burns has suffered facial injuries after a horrific fielding collision during Surrey's domestic T20 match with Sussex in Arundel.
There was immediate serious concern for both Henriques and Burns, who are currently recovering as they await further treatments in hospital after they were knocked unconscious attempting to take a catch and, with eyes on the ball, crashed into one another.
“Both were unconscious after the collision," Sussex physiotherapist John Marrale told The Guardian. "Henriques was caught by Burns’ knee and Burns had lacerations on the top of his head and below his eye.
"They were given oxygen and pain relief before they went to hospital. Fortunately they were sitting up when they left the ground but it was a sickening incident.”
Three ambulances arrived on the field as medical staff and paramedics tended to the players, and there was significant relief when Henriques reportedly offered a wave to the crowd and Burns gave two thumbs up as they were placed on spinal boards and put in neck braces before being lifted into the waiting vehicles.
The Guardian also reported that they were given oxygen and intravenous painkillers.
Latest news is that Rory and Moises are both in good spirits in hospital..Rory is waiting to have stitches on head and facial injuries..

Nonetheless, considering the obvious gravity of the situation, there was further good news when the ground announcer relayed the fact that the two players were conscious and sitting up in hospital.

Officials and players from both sides agreed to abandon the match, while Surrey director of cricket and former England captain Alec Stewart posted this tweet:

Cricket NSW released a statement on Monday wishing Henriques a speedy recovery.
“This is very unfortunate news,” Cricket NSW CEO Andrew Jones said. "Moises is a fine man and an outstanding cricketer.
“We wish Moises a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him on his return home.”
