Wessels ton headlines record-breaking night
South African Riki Wessels hit a remarkable hundred to lead Notts to a thrilling five-run win over Derbyshire in a high-scoring affair in England's domestic T20 tournament overnight.
Wessels made a stunning 110 from just 54 balls in the Outlaws' total of 3-227, the dynamic right-hander finding strong support in former Zimbabwe international Brendan Taylor, who hit 67 not out.

It was the first century for Notts in T20 cricket and included seven sixes and 11 fours as the two Africans combined for a 153-run stand to provide the backbone of their team's highest-ever score in the game's shortest format.

Aussie Dan Christian finished off the innings with 32 not out from just 18 balls.
In reply, Derbyshire produced a staggering batting performance of their own, coming within five runs of the record total, 33-year-old Wayne Madsen smashing an unbeaten 86 from 44 in a valiant attempt at the target.
In all, 449 runs were scored in a thrilling night of T20 action, and a record domestic crowd of 14,123 was on a hand at Trent Bridge to witness it.

It was a first win from three attempts for the Outlaws, while Derbyshire lost just their second match from five so far in the tournament.
Elsewhere, Aaron Finch top-scored with for Surrey in their 15-run win over Middlesex at The Oval, while England allrounder David Willey struck form with 70 in Yorkshire's comfortable 29-run win over Birmingham.
