Ash who? 'That guy' leaves India reeling

Century-maker Dhawan unsure of the identity of Australia's great escape artist following fourth ODI in Mohali

He might not have remembered his name in the post-match press conference, but India opener Shikhar Dhawan is unlikely to forget "that guy" Ashton Turner again after he revisits the highlights of last night's ODI epic in Mohali.

Turner's match-winning 84 not out from 43 balls propelled Australia to 6-359, their highest-ever successful run chase in ODI cricket, which tied the series 2-2 ahead of Wednesday's decider in Delhi.

Turner's late-innings ambush took the spotlight off Dhawan's swashbuckling 143 in the first innings, but when the India opener was asked about the rookie Australian's efforts after play, his opponent's name escaped him.

New heroes stand up for Australia

"He's a new player but we knew that – he already (played)," Dhawan said.

"Of course, 'that guy' played a really good knock and took the game away from us.

"But if there wasn't any dew it wouldn't be possible to play those shots.

"Because of the dew those things just got away from us.

"Credit goes to him that he played a great knock."

Dhawan and India will likely get another look at Turner in Dehli with Marcus Stoinis managing a fractured thumb suffered in the third ODI in Ranchi.

It was Stoinis's absence that allowed Turner to showcase his destructive abilities with the bat, which featured five fours and six sixes in 63 minutes of mayhem.

Peter Handscomb's 117 laid the foundation for Turner to explode and the Victorian said the Aussie camp knew what to expect from second-gamer Turner.

A really big moment for us: Handscomb

"That was awesome," Handscomb said after play. "No-one really moved around (in the dressing room), all the superstitions start coming into play.

"But that's incredible. We've seen Ash do this in the Big Bash (with Perth Scorchers) – we've seen him do it a couple of times now.

"But for him to come out on the world stage, (playing his) second ODI and play an innings like that is phenomenal, and he'll take a lot of confidence going forward as well."
