Willey helps England finish tour on a high

England have steamrollered the West Indies for the second time in three days, wrapping up a thumping eight-wicket win in their third Twenty20 international and a series clean sweep.

David Willey delivered a killer spell of left-arm swing with the new ball in St Kitts, taking 4-7 and the Windies never recovered, following up Friday's night's 45 all out by losing all 10-71.

Jonny Bairstow hit a lively 37 as England polished off the chase in 10.3 overs, their quickest ever, with 57 balls remaining.

Having lost the Test series 2-1 and drawn the one-day leg, a 3-0 triumph allows England to end a tricky tour on a high while their opponents have had the look of disinterested participants.

England were invited to bowl first and Willey was in business instantly, with Shai Hope driving half-heartedly to Alex Hales at cover on the first delivery.

Willey doubled down when Shimron Hetmyer failed to clear Chris Jordan at mid-off and turned a bright start into a golden one, with debutant John Campbell slogging high for Joe Denly at point in the same over.

Two balls later Darren Bravo angled a low catch to Bairstow.

After three overs Willey boasted personal best of 4-7 but was shuffled out of the attack before he could chase England's first T20 five-wicket haul.

The 29-year-old might have fancied his chances but the Windies never even threatened to last long enough.

Jason Holder greeted Denly's leg-spin by launching the first six of the day but fell next ball attempting another.

It was routinely caught by Jordan who then pulled off a blinder to snare Nicholas Pooran.

The scoreboard read 6-48 and England finished the job clinically for the addition of another 23 runs.

Hales gave England's chase a jump start, pounding two fours and a six in Cottrell's opening over.

There was another boundary off Holder before the home skipper sent him on his way for 20, averting the prospect of an ignominious 10-wicket loss.

Bairstow picked up the baton, middling three boundaries and a six off Allen's innocuous spin and flogging Holder over long leg.

There were still 12 needed when he was dismissed but captain Eoin Morgan ensured the win came in record time, finishing things with a six and four.

"We have played extremely well over the last three games, guys in particular who have come in and really taken the limelight which has been outstanding to see because it's been guys who don't get a huge amount of opportunity," he said.

"Sam Billings and Joe Denly have come in and done extremely well, Chris Jordan, man of the series, has been absolutely outstanding. Today's game has been about Dave Willey."
