Warner, Bancroft locked in for NT league

NT Cricket have confirmed that David Warner and Cameron Bancroft will play in Darwin's limited-overs Strike League in July. 

Bancroft will play the entire month-long tournament while Warner has committed to two one-day matches on July 21 and 22.

It's believed Warner has entered the draft for the Global T20 Canada league, which runs from June 28 to July 16. The draft for the Canadian tournament is this week.

The Strike League is a four-team competition, with each side to play eight T20 games and three one-dayers at Marrara Cricket Ground from July 1-29. 

"I’m really looking forward to playing in the Strike League in July," Warner said.

"I heard so much about the competition while I was in Darwin earlier this month that I’m keen to be part of it."

Warner has previously committed to playing at least three of Randwick Petersham's opening four matches of the Sydney grade season while Bancroft will turn out for Perth club side Willetton.

Warner and Bancroft were banned for 12 and nine months respectively by Cricket Australia after March's ball-tampering scandal in South Africa. 

Banned captain Steve Smith, also rubbed out for 12 months, announced last week he will make his comeback in Canada next month.

All three players have been permitted during their bans to play club cricket in Australia and in domestic tournaments abroad by Cricket Australia.

Smith was last week named as a marquee player for the Global T20 Canada league.

"The Strike League is a fantastic competition with a mix of local, interstate and overseas players participating, and is a great showcase of the excellent facilities and talent we have in the North."
