Kaur, Taylor star as Thunder roll Strikers

Thunder make it back-to-back wins in Hobart with another convincing victory over the Adelaide Strikers

Sydney Thunder's batting depth was again on display as the Rebel WBBL leaders mowed down a challenging victory target with room to spare against Adelaide Strikers at Bellerive Oval on Sunday.

The Strikers posted 5-145 but Thunder paced their run-chase to perfection, reaching 5-146 with 10 balls remaining.

Terrific Taylor scores rapid fifty

Star opener Rachael Priest fell to the very first ball of the Thunder innings and Naomi Stalenberg (1) followed, but the Strikers' hopes of an upset were soon dashed.

Harmanpreet Kaur once again impressed, continuing recent rich form with a rapid-fire 52 not out off 34 balls.

Opener Stafanie Taylor was named player of the match for her 55 off 42 balls, including three sixes.

Hasty Harmanpreet goes big in Hobart

The pair added 60 for the fourth wicket off just 34 balls before West Indies' star Taylor was run out with victory in sight.

Indian international Kaur has now scored 186 runs in four innings at an average of 62.

The Strikers had several batters make a start but, as in recent matches, they were unable to build partnerships.

Bridget Patterson was the mainstay of the innings, with the No.4 hitting an unbeaten 36.

While the Thunder retain their hold on top spot, the Strikers have collected just one win in five outings.

Adelaide are next in action on Friday when they host the Melbourne Stars at Karen Rolton Oval, while the Thunder will play Hobart Hurricanes at Spotless Stadium on Christmas Eve.
