Aussies unchanged, Black Caps bat first

Australia keep the faith with winning formula for T20 tri-series final against New Zealand at Eden Park

Australia have named an unchanged XI for the third consecutive match, with leg-spinner Adam Zampa again overlooked for the T20 tri-series final against New Zealand in Auckland.

The Aussies are riding a four-match winning streak and have kept the faith with the same side that beat the Black Caps in a record-breaking clash at Eden Park last Friday night.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bat first.

Western Australian Ashton Agar will again be the main spinner in the side, supported by fast bowlers Billy Stanlake, Kane Richardson and Andrew Tye.

Agar's brilliant KFC BBL campaign and good form so far in this series - he's taken four wickets at an economy rate of 6.28 - means Zampa again misses out, alongside Travis Head and Ben Dhwarshuis.

The hosts have also named an unchanged XI from the side that lost to England on Sunday.

The match will get underway at 5pm AEDT and be broadcast in Australia on Fox Sports More (Channel 507)

PREVIEW

Captain David Warner believes a score in the vicinity of 270 is entirely feasible at the pocket-sized Eden Park, where they scored 245 in a record chase to beat the Black Caps last week.

Another high-scoring clash looks likely given the massive firepower in Australia's batting line-up and the hot form of New Zealand openers Martin Guptill and Colin Munro.

Warner on Eden Park's quirks ... and playing darts

The highest score in a T20 international is Australia's 3-263 against Sri Lanka in Pallekele in 2016 - one of just three occasions when a team has broken the 250 mark.

Warner wouldn't be surprised to see that record broken at a ground famous for its short straight boundaries.

"It all depends on the start," Australia's stand-in skipper said.

Williamson ponders how to keep control at Eden Park

"We got 91 off six (overs on Friday night). If you're going on that basis, you can probably get 260, 270.

"The MCG, Brisbane and those type of grounds, they're big grounds. It's hard to get your sixes. A ground like here - whoever hits the most sixes and fours is going to win."
