Dean Elgar is a very determined left-handed opening-batter for South Africa, who captained the South Africa Under-19's in Sri Lanka in 2006.

He debuted for the Proteas in November 2012, six years after his first-class debut for Free State.

Elgar has made eight Test match centuries, with 140 against New Zealand in 2017 his highest-score.

His ODI debut also came in 2012 but he hasn't been able to replicate his Test record, averaging just 24.
