As the season draws to an end, we take a look at the summer's highest individual scores recorded (so far!)
CommBank MyCricket Legends: Top 5 knocks
1. Dean Taylor – 381 for Werribee Centrals v Melton Centrals
Williamstown and District Cricket Association (Victoria) - B Grade, October 15 2016
Werribee Centrals opener Dean Taylor turned up to Galvin Park in November for a Williamstown and District B Grade match against Melton Centrals having never scored a century for the club he’d played at for 20 years.
But Taylor left the ground with an incredible 381 runs to his name, setting a colossal benchmark for this season’s highest score in Australian club cricket this season, one that looks unlikely to be surpassed.
“When he got out, we said to him ‘is that the first time you’ve made a triple-century?’” Werribee Centrals president Feim Hyssoli told cricket.com.au at the time. “He said ‘that’s the first time I’ve made a hundred ever!’”
“I was surprised myself,” Taylor admitted. “I’ve hit a few 70s and 60s before. I think I got a 90 a few years ago.
“I never actually thought I’d make a 100 let alone the score that I made. I was actually quite shocked.
“Once they’d clapped me for my 250, I was pretty spent. I started cramping that much, I was just about cooked.”

The 38-year-old soldiered on, passing Sammut’s record and eventually fell to a good catch just 19 short of a quadruple-ton.
More pleasing for Taylor than his estimated “65-70 boundaries” was the fact he shared in two partnerships over 200 runs, both with juniors from the club’s under-17 side.
Such was the scale of the innings, Werribee had to continue scoring on a separate piece of paper after running out of room in their scorebook, as they racked up 3-528 from their 70 overs.

2. John Cuthbertson – 360 for Merinda Park v Emerald
West Gippsland Cricket Association (Victoria) - F Grade, February 25
John Cuthbertson blasted the second-highest score in club cricket this summer for Merinda Park’s F grade, making a reasonable case to be promoted at least one XI higher.
Cuthbertson crunched 50 fours and 10 sixes on the way to his triple-century, eventually falling for 360 with a quadruple-ton in his sights against Emerald.
It continued a memorable summer for the opener, having struck a double-ton, shared in a 392-run first-wicket stand and notched his 8,000th career run for the club all in one day earlier in the season.
Cutherbertson finished with 263 in the match against Pakenham in November, before sending down 23 overs and picking 2-31.

3. Rhys Furner – 307* for Gold Crest Cobras v Ferny Districts
Warehouse Cricket Association (Queensland) – A1, March 4
Rhys Furner passed 50 for the first time this season earlier this month and went on to record a truly memorable knock for the Gold Crest Cobras.
With a highest score of 48 for the summer going into the match, Furner put his middling summer behind him to notch just the third triple-ton of the 2016-17 season.

In reply, Ferny Districts fell well short of the target, falling for for 147 to complete a comprehensive 365-run win for the Cobras.

4. Dewain Barrett – 285 for Gambier Centrals v Kongorong
Mount Gambier & District Cricket Association (South Australia) - B Grade, December 10
There are scant details on Dewain Barrett’s monster double-century, which comes in at fourth on our list of the highest individual tallies in club cricket this season.
In a B grade clash with Kongorong in December, Barrett wasted little time in his brisk innings, helping Gambier Centrals score nearly 400 in just over 50 overs.
The side declared when the opener was finally dismissed 15 short of a triple-hundred.
Barrett also chipped in with the ball to knock over Kongorong for just 169, finishing with 2-17 from 12 overs to cap an unforgettable outing.
5. David Norman - 282 for Jan Juc v Barrabool
Bellarine Peninsula Cricket Association (Victoria) - C Grade, February 25
It rained sixes at Bellibrae Oval last month after the Jan Juc C Grade side’s first-drop David Norman had a day out against Barrabool.
Norman smashed an incredible 25 sixes in his record-breaking double-century as nearly three quarters of his runs came through him either hitting the rope or sending the ball flying over it.

— Jan Juc Cricket Club (@janjucsharks) February 25, 2017
He was eventually out for 282 as Jan Juc racked up 417 in just 60 overs, his knock eclipsing the club’s previous highest score of 210.
