Australian quick Mitchell Starc has exposed a flaw in Englishman Jonny Bairstow's technique on the opening day of the Ashes, says former captain Nasser Hussain.

Left-armer Starc swung the ball back into the inexperienced Bairstow (37) and sent the middle order batsman's off stump cartwheeling at Trent Bridge.
"I am worried about Jonny Bairstow because he seems to have a major fault with his technique. Graeme Smith might be able to get away with playing with a strong bottom hand and a closed face, but he's just about the only one," Hussain said in his column in London's Daily Mail.
"Australia will want Mitchell Starc to carry on bowling at Bairstow in this series and swinging the ball back into him."
Hussain also had a crack at England's Ian Bell for his soft dismissal, he was caught at slip off Peter Siddle after playing away from his body.
"He has been around long enough now to know that this is not good enough," Hussain said.
"Bell has to sit down, have a long look at himself and vow to play a lot tighter.
"At this stage of his career, with the experience he has, he needs to be making hundreds on days like this when his team need him, rather than playing with his hands away from his body."
