Doing what he does best, MS Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings to a thrilling four-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in Match 33 of IPL 7.

Needing 11 off the final over, Dhoni launched a six and a four to complete the job with three balls to spare and finish his innings unbeaten on 22 from 12 balls.

However, it was West Indian T20 star Dwayne Smith who set up the victory for the visitors with a Man of the Match knock of 57 from 51 balls. It was the slowest half-century of IPL 7 so far, but it laid the platform for his skipper’s final-over heroics.

The victory puts CSK level with Kings XI Punjab on top of the table and ended Mumbai’s home winning streak at 10 matches.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma’s side was sent into bat looking for their third consecutive win.

Opening batsman Lendl Simmons impressed in his IPL debut with a run-a-ball 38 before picking out the fielder in the deep to become Ravi Ashwin’s first wicket of the night.

Ashwin picked up two more wickets to finish with 3-30 from his four overs and helped restrict Mumbai to 6-157.
