Refund and celebration event details announced

Australia's fifth Test victory inside three days at the SCG has meant that fans holding tickets for day four may be eligible for a full refund under the terms of Cricket Australia's 2013-14 National Refund Policy.

CA and Cricket New South Wales made the announcement after Michael Clarke and his team completed a comprehensive victory over the touring side on day three of the fifth Commonwealth Bank Ashes Test.

For fans who purchased their ticket via the Ticketek website, call centre or from an outlet via credit card, refunds will be processed automatically to the credit card on which the ticket was bought within 14 working days.

A refund will be processed via cheque for those who purchased their ticket from a Ticketek outlet with cash and sent to the address listed on their Ticketek account. Cheque refunds will be drawn within 14 working days and then posted to affected customers.

Refunds will not be available at the ground.

Further information on day four refunds can be found at cricket.com.au/tickets or by contacting Ticketek on 132 849.

However, fans wishing to see their Ashes-winning heroes in the flesh will still be able to do so at the public celebration for the Australian Test team in Sydney on Tuesday January 7.

The free, public event will take place on the Northern Boardwalk of the Sydney Opera House at 11am.

Australia coach Darren Lehmann said the event was the team’s opportunity to thank the public for its support throughout the Ashes campaign.

“From the moment we assembled in Brisbane for the first Test, through to the last wicket falling here in Sydney, we have had incredible support from the Australian public.” Lehmann said.

“At times the crowd support was so strong, the boys felt like they had extra players on the field with them. It’s been quite incredible.

“This is our small way of thanking Australians for their encouragement and passion throughout the Ashes. I’ve got no doubt it played a huge part in the team’s performance.”

The team will be presented on stage with the Waterford Crystal Ashes Trophy, a larger replica of the original Ashes urn in Waterford Crystal, ahead of signing autographs and distributing giveaways for those in attendance.

Fans will also have the chance to hear from Australia captain Michael Clarke, coach Darren Lehmann and Compton-Miller medallist Mitchell Johnson.

Please also note that people who tweet using the hashtag #TheUrnReturns from Tuesday at 11am will be replied to in a very special way. And people can follow all the action from the Sydney Opera House live on cricket.com.au or enjoy constant multimedia updates via Cricket Australia’s Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Vine pages.
