Ben Hilfenhaus continued Mike Hussey's run of poor form as the Chennai Super Kings extended the Mumbai Indians' winless streak in the Indian Premier League.

New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum scored a rapid 71 to steer the Super Kings to a seven-wicket win.

Opener McCullum's 53-ball knock which featured eight fours and two sixes was the decisive innings of the game as Chennai reached 142-3 off 19 overs in response to defending champion Mumbai's 141-7.

Hussey scored just one before he was bowled off his seventh ball by Hilfenhaus, the Tasmanian still ranked by the ICC in the top 20 Test bowlers in the world who recently signed to stay on with the Tasmanian Tigers after losing his Cricket Australia central contract.

Hilfenhaus finished with 2-39 from his four overs after he also picked up the key wicket of Rohit Sharma for 50 in the 18th over.

New Zealand allrounder Corey Anderson produced his best performance in three games for winless Mumbai, blasting 39 off 31 balls before being run out.

Mumbai sit last in the eight-team league while Chennai climb to second behind the unbeaten Kings XI Punjab.
