Bushrangers welcome back Test fast bowler for Sheffield Shield clash in Melbourne
Siddle set for Shield appearance
Australia's decision to stick with an unchanged Test XI at the WACA will again be Victoria’s gain, with veteran fast bowler Peter Siddle set to return home to play for the Bushrangers in the Sheffield Shield.
Siddle, named 12th man for the second Commonwealth Bank Test against New Zealand, will miss the first day of the Bushrangers' clash with Western Australia as he makes the cross-country journey from Perth to Melbourne for the match at the MCG starting Saturday, but will be available for the remainder of the match.

"Peter will travel back to Melbourne, providing there are no last minute requirements from the Australian squad, and will play on the second, third and fourth day of the match," Victorian chairman of selectors Andrew Lynch said.
"There is a rule that allows us to do that, to ensure that Australian squad members are playing as much as possible, so Chris Tremain will play the first day then will be out of the side."

James Pattinson has also been recalled to the Bushrangers’ 13-man squad after being rested for last week’s Shield match against New South Wales at the SCG, which was abandoned due to unsafe conditions.

The Bushrangers are again without veteran bowler John Hastings, who injured his shoulder batting at training prior to the match against New South Wales.
"John had a scan in Sydney which showed that he had a small subluxation of the shoulder which caused a small tear in the rotator cuff," Victorian physio Nick Adcock said.
"He has had rehab on his shoulder this week and we expect him to be available for selection for the following match against Western Australia on November 27."

Former captain Cameron White’s century in Victoria’s Toyota Futures League match against Tasmania was not enough to earn a recall, but Lynch said it was a good sign of Victoria’s depth.
"It was great for Cameron to spend some time in the middle because it had been a long time since he had had a hit,” Lynch said.
"He played really well, as did Seb Gotch, and it was important for those two to keep the pressure on those batsmen in the Bushrangers side.
"Jackson Coleman also bowled very well in the match and looks like a good prospect for the future."
Western Australia have made two changes to their 13-man squad, with seamer Andrew Tye and 23-year-old allrounder Hilton Cartwright coming in for quick Simon Mackin and uncapped youngster Joel Paris.
Victoria squad: Matthew Wade (captain), Fawad Ahmed, Scott Boland, Dan Christian, Travis Dean, Aaron Finch, Peter Handscomb, Glenn Maxwell, James Pattinson, Rob Quiney, Peter Siddle, Marcus Stoinis, Chris Tremain.
WA squad: Shaun Marsh (capt), Ashton Agar, Cameron Bancroft, Tom Beaton, Jason Behrendorff, Will Bosisto, Hilton Cartwright, Marcus Harris, Michael Hogan, Michael Klinger, David Moody, Andrew Tye, Sam Whiteman.
