Awesome Agar brightens rain-affected clash as Warriors stay alive with win over CA XI
WA snatch win in 15-over thriller
A free-hitting innings from Ashton Agar has lifted Western Australia to a five-wicket win over a gallant Cricket Australia XI in a rain-hit Matador one-day Cup match on Monday.
Agar crashed four fours and four sixes in a quickfire 47 off just 19 balls to steer WA to within touching distance of victory at Hurstville Oval.
In a match reduced to just 15 overs a side, WA reached 5-159 to claim victory with eight balls to spare and avoid becoming the CA XI's only victim of the season.

The Warriors moved into third on the ladder and their last-round clash with fourth-placed NSW is set to decide who qualifies for the elimination final on Friday.
It was a low-key return to WA colours for Mitch Marsh who made three with the bat and didn't bowl any overs, with the allrounder having featured in Australia's recent disastrous 5-0 one-day series defeat in South Africa.
The CA XI were 0-25 from 5.5 overs when rain forced a halt to proceedings early on, with play resuming just in time to avoid an abandonment.

The CA XI made an impressive fist of things reaching 8-147 from 15 overs, later adjusted to a victory target of 155 under the Duckworth-Lewis method.
A hard-hitting innings of 43 off just 18 balls by Jake Carder was among the highlights, while opener Sam Harper top-scored with 48 off 28.
AJ Tye returned figures of 4-23 off his allotted three overs, while at the other end of the scale allrounder Ashton Turner saw his lone over go for 25 amid some innovative stroke-play from the CA XI's young batsman.
