Renegades notch up three in a row

The Renegades steamrolled the Heat to post their third WBBL win in a row

The Melbourne Renegades have found the big stage to their liking, inflicting a crushing 10-wicket Rebel WBBL win over the Brisbane Heat at Etihad Stadium.

The Heat were dismissed for just 66 off 16.1 overs, allowing the Renegades to ease to victory with 9.1 overs to spare.

Sophie Molineux ended the match in style, hitting 14 runs off three deliveries to finish on 45 not out from 37 balls, collecting player-of-the-match honours.

Fellow opener Chamari Atapattu was unbeaten on 20 (from 28 balls), as the Renegades reached 0-67 under a closed roof at the Melbourne stadium.

The win, a third in succession for the Renegades, contrasted markedly with a tense eight-run victory over the same opponents just 24 hours earlier at suburban Camberwell.

Batting seemed a very different prospect for the Heat, who never recovered from losing Kirby Short for a golden duck in the opening over.

The Heat lost their final seven wickets for 30 runs, West Indian Deandra Dottin top-scoring with 14.

It was a strong collective performance with the ball by the Renegades, with four bowlers taking two wickets, headlined by in-form allrounder Amy Satterthwaite (2-5).

The Renegades have three victories from five outings to sit a win shy of the table-topping Sydney Sixers.
