The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced an updated schedule for Australia's tour of the UAE in October later this year.

The tour against Pakistan precedes an action-packed summer of cricket in Australia, with South Africa, India and England visiting before the nation co-hosts the ICC World Cup with New Zealand.

Dubai will host the series opener on October 3 with a Twenty20 match, while the three ODIs and two Test matches have each been pushed back two days from the original schedule announcement.

Sharjah will host Australia's four-day warm-up match against Pakistan A from October 15-18.

The first Test will be in Dubai from October 22-26, and Abu Dhabi will host the second from October 30-November 3.

Australia have not toured Pakistan since 1998 over security fears, however the nation's top diplomat in Pakistan, Peter Heyward, has shared his desire to bring Australian cricketers over to help revive international competition and strengthen ties between the two countries.
