The son of former Australia women’s representative Sharyn Hill, Michael moved to Tasmania at the start of the 2014-15 season after failing to break into Victoria’s side.
A left-hand batsman who captained Australia at the Under-19 World Cup in 2008, Hill’s maiden first-class hundred came against the touring England side at the MCG in 2010.
But the opener failed to build on that impressive performance, scoring just one more first-class ton for the Bushrangers and only one half-century in one-day cricket before seeking a fresh start at the Tigers.
