A powerfully built allrounder who models his game on Australia T20I captain Mitchell Marsh. Coincidentally, James has already made known his ability to clear the rope with bat in hand.
But it’s not only with the bat that James can contribute. He dominated the U19 Male National Championships with the ball, finishing the tournament among the top three wicket-takers.
James stamped his credentials as a player to watch when he struck an unbeaten 77 from just 68 deliveries in a youth one-dayer against India in Brisbane in September 2025, ensuring Australia posted a competitive total.
A product of Hornsby, in Sydney’s Upper North Shore, James is known for his strong work ethic and values, and has sharpened his game in the NSW state academy system since the U12s. While he missed selection for the Australia U19 tour to India in 2024, he made up for it with selection at the U19 World Cup in 2026.
