Lungi Ngidi's Test debut start in fine style in 2018 when the burly quick took 6-39 in India's second innings as South Africa won at Centurion.
Over the next few years he built an impressive Test record, which included a five-wicket haul in the West Indies and another six-wicket haul against India three years later.
Ngidi didn't play a Test in 2023 although he did feature for South Africa at the ODI World Cup that year, however groin and back injuries hampered the development of the exciting spearhead.
