Guy Walker will be hoping his form for the under-19 national side translates to higher honours.
He was one of the best bowlers in the four-match series with New Zealand.
Three wickets in the three day match were followed up by five wickets in the 50-over series against the Black Caps.
The first-change bowler snared 2-36 in game one, before destroying New Zealand’s top-order to seal the series. He claimed the first three wickets in game two, all caught by the wicketkeeper.
Clearly able to hit a good line and length, Walker will now have to work harder than ever if he wants a crack at the state side.
If he can stay injury free, while at the same time developing his game, Walker could be a force in the next few years.
