Player Story
The son of former Australian coach John Buchanan, Nick impressed many with strong bowling performances for Australia in the Under-19 World Cup in 2010.
A right-arm fast-medium bowler, he followed that up with good form for Queensland’s under-23 side to earn a Big Bash League contract with Brisbane Heat. He played two matches in 2011, against the Sixers and the Stars, but failed to take a wicket.
Buchanan has also represented Australia at schoolboy level in rugby union.
He signed with Tasmania for the 2017-18 domestic season.
