The tour match and the Chennai visit will provide valuable development opportunities for some of Australia's most promising players as part of Cricket Australia's national development pathway.
Three players with international experience, Sam Konstas, Josh Philippe and Kurtis Patterson, along with consistent domestic performers Campbell Kellaway, Corey Rocchiccioli and Tom Rogers, will feature in the three-day match in Darwin. Tim Nielsen has been appointed head coach while Steven Crook will be the assistant coach.
Tim Paine and Anthony Clark lead the coaching group of the emerging squad for the MRF Academy Program, with Hugh Weibgen, Rafael MacMillan, Jayden Goodwin and Steven Hogan featuring alongside Jason Sangha, Joel Davies and Lloyd Pope.

The CA XI will assemble in Darwin on 4 August ahead of a three-day match against Bangladesh from 6–8 August, with play scheduled from 10:00am–5:00pm (local time) each day.
The Australian men's development squad will travel to Chennai from 1–13 August to participate in the 2026 MRF Academy Program. The program will feature two multi-day matches, scheduled for 5–6 August and 10–11 August on extremely spin friendly pitches.
