Rohit Sharma belts highest ODI score

Records tumble in epic knock against Sri Lanka

India batsman Rohit Sharma has smashed an unbelievable 264, the highest individual score in one-day international cricket history, in the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka in Kolkata.

It was the second time Rohit has broken through the magical 200 run-mark, following his knock of 209 against Australia in Bangalore a little more than a year ago.

The 27-year-old also became the first player ever to reach 250 in the format, breaking Australian Belinda Clark's record of 229no for the highest individual score in the 50-over game.

The right-handed opener belted an incredible 33 fours, also a record, and nine sixes in the breathtaking knock.

Rohit's stunning display eventually ended on the final ball of the innings, but the damage had well and truly been done. He returned to the pavilion with 264 from 173 balls to guide his side to a formidable 5-404 from their 50 overs.
