Warne passes on wisdom

Australian great Shane Warne has made an appearance at the team's final training session on Wednesday at Old Trafford.

The third Test marks the 20th anniversary of Warne's Ball of the Century in Manchester, where he knocked over Mike Gatting with the first delivery of his Ashes career.

Steve Smith batted in the nets on match eve to increase the likelihood he will be fit for the must-win Test.

The middle-order batsman looked free in his movement and provided he pulls up ok will take his place in the side.

However the spotlight was on Warne at training.

The spin king made his first appearance in the nets for the series after being asked by close friend and Australian coach Darren Lehmann to guide the side's young spinners Nathan Lyon and Ashton Agar.

Warne, who attracted the attention of a media throng, spent time chatting with Lyon and Agar as they bowled in the nets.
