Harry Nielsen comes from a cricketing family with his father Tim Nielsen a former South Australia player and coach of Australia.

Nielsen, a wicketkeeper like his father, scored a stunning century on Sheffield Shield debut for South Australia against Victoria in February 2018.

He had a good 2020-21 season with the bat, scoring a century in both the Shield and the Marsh Cup.

He has become a regular for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash too, especially with Alex Carey absent with the national team.
