Wicket Keeper
A former Australia under-19 representative, James Peirson first made an impression for the Bulls in the 2013 Ryobi Cup, scoring consecutive half-centuries in his first two matches.
An accomplished wicketkeeper and solid right-handed batsman capable of playing at the top of the order, Peirson was a standout at the 2011 Australian Under 19 Championships, captaining Queensland to the title and leading the team's run-scoring with 311 runs at 58.
With veteran keeper Chris Hartley a regular for Queensland, Peirson has had to satisfy himself with second XI cricket early in his career.
But Hartley’s omission from the Bulls’ 2016 Matador BBQs One-Day Cup squad opened the door for the Bulls to fast-track Peirson’s development behind the stumps.
With Hartley announcing his retirement at the end of the 2016-17 season, it opens the door for Peirson to have a huge impact for the Bulls in 2017-18 and beyond.
