Iain Carlisle is a tall, right-arm fast bowler who takes the new ball and can bowl high-quality out-swing at good pace.
Born in Canberra, Carlisle progressed through the pathways system for NSW and the CA XI and played an Under-19 Test against Sri Lanka Under-19s as a 17-year-old.
A move south was the next step on his career path and a first-class debut for Tasmania followed in March 2023.
Carlisle hit form at the end of the 2023-24 Shield season and was selected in the Shield final against Western Australia in just his fifth first-class game.
