Tom Murray hit four centuries as an opening batter with WA Premier Cricket side University in their charge to back-to-back titles in 2025-26, including an unbeaten 132 in the semi-final against Mount Lawley. He also hit three half-centuries in as many matches for WA's Second XI side in the same summer. Those exploits saw him awarded a full state contract for the 2026-27 season.
He was handed a suprise Sheffield Shield debut in WA's opening match of the 2026-27 season against Queensland at the WACA when he was a last-minute replacement for an ill Jayden Goodwin, but Murray was substituted out of the match ahead of the second day after also being struck down with illness.
