Bio

Western Australia young gun Cameron Green confirmed his status as one of the country's brightest pace-bowling prospects when he became the youngest player to take a Sheffield Shield five-wicket haul on debut in February 2017.

At just 17, Green stormed onto the domestic scene by taking 5-24 from 8.1 overs against Tasmania.

The tall right-armer's junior career had been hindered by injury and there were fears he'd been laid low again when he dislocated his knee in the warm-ups midway through his second Shield match.

But with the aid of WACA physio Nick Jones, the joint was manipulated back into place and Green was able to take his place and showed his wares with the bat in hand.

He contributed a crucial 45, a knock that included three towering sixes off Victoria Bushrangers and Australia fast bowler James Pattinson.

Green then claimed 3-20 in his nine overs, an effort that earnt praise from WA skipper and former Test batsman Adam Voges.
