Player Story

One of the brightest batting prospects in the country, Fraser-McGurk signed on as an injury replacement player for the Melbourne Renegades late in BBL|08 before getting a full contract ahead of BBL|09.

An attacking right-handed batter, Fraser-McGurk has represented Australia through various underage teams including the Australia at the Under-19 World Cup in 2020.

He made his Sheffield Shield and Marsh Cup debuts for Victoria in the early rounds of the 2019-20 season and performed well, making a 50 in both of his maiden appearances, all before his 18th birthday.

But a run of low scores saw the opportunities dry up in Victoria and he wasn't selected during the 2022-23 Shield season and played only four one-day matches for a return of 54 runs.

He moved to South Australia ahead of the 2023-24 season with the fresh start proving in an instant catalyst for a surge into national calculations, breaking the world record for the fastest List A century off 29 balls against Tasmania in October 2023 in his fourth match for the state.

His maiden first-class century followed against his former state the following month and after a strong BBL|13 campaign for the Renegades (257 runs striking at 158), Fraser-McGurk was called into the Australia squad for the first time.

He made his ODI debut against the West Indies at the SCG in February 2024, hitting a breathtaking 18-ball 41 at Canberra in his second match.

Fraser-McGurk also proved an instant sensation in the IPL after being called into the Delhi Capitals squad for the 2024 season as a replacement for South African quick Lungi Ngidi, hitting five sixes in his 55 on debut before slamming a 15-ball fifty in his third match, the equal second quickest half-century by an Australian in T20 cricket.
