Bio

The Bushrangers can confidently say they have one of the deepest bowling rosters in Australian domestic cricket.

Even with their Test players out, they can rely on a mix of experience and youth to get them over the line.

One of their younger players, Louis Cameron, has already shown his ability to make the move from the Futures League to the Sheffield Shield.

The ACT junior had an impressive 2011/12 campaign that saw him pick up plenty of wickets in the under-23 t20 tournament.

The transition from white ball to red was smooth, with Cameron taking 5/29 against the Warriors in his final game of the season.

Victorian selectors must have been rapt with Cameron, because they handed him his Sheffield Shield debut midway through last season.

The step up in class only seemed to motivate Cameron, who picked up two wickets in his opening spell against the Blues at the SCG.

He finished with 3/61 from 19 overs in a match that petered out into a draw.

Cameron featured in Victoria’s next Shield match with the Redbacks, but went wicketless.

A further five scalps in the Futures League, as well as a wicket against the English Lions capped off a promising twelve months for Cameron.

With that first taste of Shield cricket under his belt, the 21 year old will be hungrier than ever to fight his way back into the Bushrangers’ line-up.
