Right-hand batsman Travis Dean enjoyed a fairytale first season in the state ranks.

After securing a two-year contact with Victoria in 2015 following consistent performances for Footscray-Edgewater in Victorian Premier Cricket,he finished as the Bushrangers' leading Sheffield Shield runscorer in a title-winning season.

The opener finished the summer with 807 runs at 44.83 and attracted international attention when he produced unbeaten hands of 154 and 109 on debut against Queensland.

He also fired in the final against South Australia, crunching 111 and 54 to add a coat of varnish to a fine season.

Compact and correct, Dean mixes a watertight defence with strong strokes square of the wicket and has been touted as a future Test player.
