Trent Boult has some of the world's best batsmen’s wickets to his name and after attracting the attention of the cricket world with his fiery performances during the World Cup, his future for the Black Caps appears bright.
A medium-fast left-arm bowler, Boult was selected to play in the 2008 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
A series of appearances for New Zealand A followed before Boult was selected in the New Zealand squad for the 2009 Chappell-Hadlee series. He did not win a cap in that series but his Test debut came in 2011 against Australia.
His soon picked up a 2011 New Zealand contract and was part of the Test team which took on South Africa in March 2012. Boult was dropped for the final two Tests of the series, but made his way back into the squad for the tour of the West Indies later that year.
Boult’s one-day international debut came against West Indies in 2012 and his best figures to date are 5-27, taken against Australia during the pool stages of the World Cup 2015.
