A right-arm fast bowler with a nice action to match, Lachmund performed well at the U19 National Championships, where he was noted for the movement he produced that brought the ball back in to the right-handers.
A teenager from Toowoomba, Lachmund moved to Brisbane to play premier cricket at the age of 16 after his upbringing in country Queensland.
He led Australia’s attack at the U19 World Cup in 2026. He has sought to model his game on former Aussie paceman James Pattinson, and served notice with a strong U19 series against India in late 2025, which preceded his performances in the National Championships.
