Prasidh Krishna made his international debut for India in an ODI against England in 2021. Recording figures of 4 for 54, he became the first Indian bowler to claim a 4-wicket-haul on ODI debut.
His Test and T20Is debuts followed in 2023.
With his shining first-class and List A performances for Karnataka, Prasidh came to be regarded as one of the most promising young quicks in India.
He made his first-class debut for his state side against a Bangladesh A team in 2017 and took a five-for. That performance earned the then 19-year-old a call-up to MRF Pace Academy in Chennai where he was coached by Australian fast-bowling legend Glenn McGrath.
In 2019, Prasidh was invited to train under Jeff Thomson at Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence. These experiences played a significant role in his growth as a fast bowler.
While his career has been marred by injuries that have not allowed him to establish a regular place in the Indian sides, he was been part of some significant tours for his country.
Prasidh got to play a home World Cup when he was added to India's 2023 Cricket World Cup squad as a replacement for injured allrounder Hardik Pandya.
During the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, he came into the Indian side in the Sydney Test in place of Jasprit Bumrah and took six Australian wickets. Later in the same year, he played three Tests on India's tour of England.
