Player Story
Born in Bridgetown, Barbados, Bethell moved to England aged 12 on a private school scholarship, and was soon signed up by Edgbaston-based county Warwickshire, making his List A and County Championship debuts in 2021.
He made his T20 International debut against Australia in September 2024, hitting Adam Zampa for a 20-run over to help England to a win in Cardiff, and played all five matches in the following ODI series.
A Test debut on tour of New Zealand followed as he earned caps in three formats in the space of four months, scoring fifties in each of his first three Test appearances.
Drafted by the Melbourne Renegades with pick 10 of the BBL|14 draft before he had made his international debut, he played eight games with a high score of 87 in the 2024-25 summer.
He was named England's youngest ever international captain for a T20 series against Ireland in Dublin, aged 21 years and 329 days.
