Player Story

The nephew of former Test allrounder and dual World Cup winner Tom Moody, David got his chance in first-class cricket when Western Australia's fast-bowling stocks were hit by injuries in the back half of the 2014-15 season. 

Moody took his chance immediately, taking 4-60 in his first game against NSW, including the wicket of centurion Peter Nevill. 

Moody's state debut came after he had attracted enough attention to be selected in multiple Cricket Australia XIs earlier in the summer and he was also picked to play for the Prime Minister's XI against England in Canberra. 

He picked up the wicket of Joe Root in that match and took 3-35 in a World Cup warm-up match against Bangladesh in Brisbane.

Moody has taken 62 wickets from his first 19 first-class appearances.
