Player Story
Mikayla Hinkley joined the Brisbane Heat in WBBL|05 after previously playing for the Sydney Thunder, Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes.
Finding her home in Queensland, the right-handed batter and handy fielder also represented the state, playing for the Queensland Fire.
A proud Indigenous woman of the Kunja people, Hinkley is a role model who helped Aboriginal artist Delores McDonald design the Brisbane Heat’s First Nations jersey and assisted Queensland Cricket in developing the organisation’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
In 2024, Hinkley shifted her focus back west, signing a state contract with Western Australia and completed the move when she signed with the Scorchers for WBBL|10.
